About Alisa Marie โ Encaustic Artist & Creative Entrepreneur
Iโm Alisa Marie โ a contemporary, self-taught encaustic artist, breathing new life into this ancient wax medium with bold color, texture, and heart.
My Journey
My encaustic journey began in 2013 as a form of art therapy after a traumatic brain injury changed my life. What started with crayons, a hairdryer, and a fork quickly became a source of healing, self-discovery, and creative joy.
Over time, I developed my encaustic paints from beeswax, damar resin, and pigments โ allowing me to create art from start to finish with intention and care. Through chronic illness, grief, and physical challenges, art has remained my refuge and my way of connecting with others.
I come from a long line of artists and entrepreneurs, with cherished memories of spending time in my grandmotherโs ceramic studio in Peabody, Massachusetts. Today, I carry that creative legacy in my studio at the Lane House Arts Center in New Hampshire.
My Art & Inspiration
Influenced by Van Goghโs fearless use of color and movement and Frida Kahloโs raw emotional storytelling, I pour my experiences into each piece. Every painting expresses resilience, emotion, and hope โ created to brighten spaces and hearts alike.
My work extends into designer textiles, jewelry, home dรฉcor, and fine art prints, crafted to bring beauty and joy into everyday life.
My Mission
As a woman-owned small business, my mission is:
To create art and products that inspire joy, celebrate individuality, and remind us all of the strength we carry within.
Beyond the Studio
When Iโm not painting with molten wax, youโll often find me designing, cooking, writing poetry, singing, playing the keyboard, or reading โ all of which inspire and fuel my creativity.
Coming Soon
Iโm excited to be working on my first book, Momโs Journey Home, blending my artwork with heartfelt poetry in honor of my mother.
